The clean, minimalist form combined with textured natural surface make this planter a thing of beauty. The hole in the base allows any extra water to drain into removable plate, keeping your surface area clean. Made from a proprietary blend of clay and crushed stone from the historical village of Hasami in Nagasaki, Japan, Hasami Porcelain is crafted using methods that are over 400 years old. Unlike mass-produced porcelain, each piece derives unique character from the manual work to mold, glaze, and fire it.

*Please note: Hasami products are handmade and hand-glazed, so there may be slight variations in color and finish on these products.

Gorgeous AND Sturdy!

My Dad was helping me pack my things up during a recent move - as he began picking up my newly-purchased planter, I warned him the bottom detached. My warning evidently unheard or unheeded, I watched as the bottom of the planter slipped from his hands. As my soul exited my body, in slow motion the bottom fell from about waist height onto the concrete garage floor. Feeling overwhelming dread, I picked it up and inspected it for damage. Not only did it not break or chip, it *wasn't even scratched*. I don't know if that's "normal" (I still can't believe it, and have examined it several times over the past month in disbelief) but in addition to being very aesthetic, it's more solidly built than it frankly has a right to be. My chagrined father and I love this thing.
