It's pretty crazy to think about the thousands of people around the world who are using an Ugmonk mousepad as I type this.
Today, we’re launching a new version of our mousepad with the embossed Ugmonk logo. The new mousepads are available in natural, brown, and black in both standard and XL sizes.
The Backstory of the Mousepad
In 2010, Ugmonk was still in its infancy and I was just starting to add new product categories in addition to clothing. One of those categories was leather.
I became fascinated with learning about the natural properties of real, full-grain leather and how it aged over time.
When I saw and touched full-grain vegetable-tanned leather for the first time, I was blown away compared to what I had always considered “leather.”
While collaborating with our leather maker on handmade leather journals, I had a random idea to have her make a rectangular mousepad for me to test. I was curious to see how the natural leather would wear from the repetitive day-to-day use.
I started using the leather mousepad sample and immediately realized how much of an upgrade it was compared to my previous one (a freebie that some insurance company sent me).
I honestly wasn’t sure how many people still used mousepads other than me, but I decided to test it out and order 10 of them to sell. It’s such a simple product that I wasn’t sure how people would respond, but customers loved them and the word began to spread.

Here we are 9 years later with thousands of Ugmonk mousepads sold and shipped around the world.
Over the years we’ve continued to improve the leather quality and finishing and are now using some of the highest quality leather available anywhere.
