Time is a weird thing. Even though time feels like time is standing still right now, the clock keeps ticking. The good news is that we are moving forward and this pandemic will eventually end.
Today, I’m excited to introduce a new line of beautifully-designed watches from HODINA.
I connected with Vadim, one of the founders of HODINA, and got to chat with him about how he got into designing watches. Unlike many of the brands that seem to pop up on Instagram out of nowhere, Vadim has a deep history in the world of watchmaking and it shows in the quality of their products.
His father was a watch repair specialist in Ukraine starting at the age of 18. Vadim grew up spending hours in his father's shop being immersed in the world of vintage watches and learning the ins and outs of watchmaking.
In 2014, Vadim launched HODINA which means "hour" in Ukrainian.
When I received my HODINA watch I could immediately tell that there was some serious craftsmanship that went into making it just by the way it felt. The level of detail Vadim and his team put into each component is exceptional.
The Oslo Series Watch is inspired by Scandinavian simplicity. The unisex design features a Japanese movement enclosed in scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. The case is made from 316L surgical grade stainless steel while the strap is made from an Italian vegetable-tanned leather.
